7th Annual New Mexico Governor's Conference on the Link between Animal Cruelty and Human Violence
The Link — the connection between animal abuse and human violence - has been documented in numerous psychology, sociology and criminology studies. This conference focuses on collaborative efforts to identify and stop abuse, investigate cases and provide proper treatment for abusers.
La Dra. Núria Querol i Viñas, ha sido invitada a exponer la situación de los animales en España, analizar algunos casos-modelo y comentar los programas e iniciativas que se llevan a cabo para prevenir e intervenir en casos de violencia: la creación del Observatorio de Violencia Hacia los Animales como progresión de GEVHA (Grupo para el Estudio de la Violencia Hacia Humanos y Animales), la implementación del Programa para Mujeres víctimas de violencia de Género y sus Animales de compañía de la Comisión contra la Violencia Familiar y de Género*( Hospital Universitario Mútua de Terrassa), los programas de educación humanitaria y formación de agentes de policía (PRODA y l’Oficina de Protecció dels Animals del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona), el programa de reinserción de perros abandonados para proteger y dar apoyo emocional a las mujeres maltratadas (Solcan), etc.

Forming Positive Links
The Link — the connection between animal abuse and human violence - has been documented in numerous psychology, sociology and criminology studies. This conference focuses on collaborative efforts to identify and stop abuse, investigate cases and provide proper treatment for abusers.
This Year's Conference will focus on Forming Positive Links! Attendees will learn about topics related to The Link from nationally renowned speakers. End the day with a planning session to develop pilot projects or working groups to continue to raise awareness of The Link throughout New Mexico over the coming year. We will learn to work together to Form Positive Links!
Get involved with year-round efforts to end all forms of family violence in New Mexico. The New Mexico Steering Committee on The Link will provide updates on The Link-related efforts in the state, and will gather input and ideas from conference attendees regarding future efforts.

Travel Scholarships Available!
