A Kent man has been banned for life from keeping animals after he admitted stabbing his dog to death during a family row in which he also stabbed his brother. Jermaine Clark, 25, of St Paul's Cray, Orpington, admitted stabbing Lenny the shar pei dog twice during the incident in November 2004. Thames magistrates heard how Clark stabbed his brother and then stabbed the dog as he tried to defend the brother, and again when the dog was lying on the floor. The RSPCA was called and Inspector Clare Ponsford investigated. She said: "This was clearly not self-defence as Lenny was stabbed again while lying helpless on the ground. The dog took several minutes to die in agony." Clark said he could not remember the details of the incident. He was banned for life from keeping animals and ordered to pay £650 costs.   photo © RSPCA
