Lo invitan a comer y trata de freir los cinco gatitos de su anfitrión
Un hombre que había sido invitado a comer a casa de un amigo en Buffalo (estado de Nueva York) trató de freír a los cinco gatitos de su anfitrión, informó la prensa local este lunes.
El hombre, que está a la espera de recibir cargos por ``crueldad hacia animales´´, aprovechó un descuido de su amigo para echar a sus cinco gatitos en la sartén en la que se estaban friendo dos costillas de cerdo, explica el diario The Buffalo News.
Los gatitos, que tenían de cinco a seis semanas y sufrieron quemaduras leves, se recuperan en un centro de acogida de
animales de Buffalo y se espera su pleno restablecimiento.
``Es horrible´´, dijo al diario Charles Loubert, un funcionario municipal de control de animales, ``es quizás uno de los peores casos de crueldad animal que he visto en mis 26 años en el trabajo´´.
``No hay razón para hacerle eso a un gatito desvalido´´, agregó.

Cat, kittens covered in hot cooking oil

Buffalo Police are investigating a disturbing case of animal abuse. A cat and her kittens are resting in the Buffalo Animal Shelter this morning, after investigators say they were covered in hot cooking oil.
This is one of five kittens recovering at the Buffalo Animal Shelter after being dipped in hot grease on the City's West Side.
Buffalo Police and Animal Control Officers discovered the kittens in the upstairs apartment at 1173 West Avenue just after 3:30 on the afternoon of Aug 12.
Police say the kittens are owned by Otis Johnson who lives in the apartment. Animal Control officers say Johnson was cooking for a friend, and left the room. Chuck Loubert, Animal Control Officer: "He had a couple of pork chops in the frying pan full of grease, and I guess this other gentleman grabbed three of the kittens and threw them in the frying pan and started swishing them around, then he wiped them on the wall."
Rob Macko: "Animal Control Officer Chuck Loubert says the Police did a great job of responding to this house so quickly. He says the officers that responded to the scene, as well as himself and the veterinarian who checked out the kittens were sickened that someone could do this to some helpless animals."
They say Johnson did nothing to prevent the scalding, but they don't plan to file criminal charges against him. The man who attacked the kittens will be charged with animal cruelty on Aug 14.
